During the COVID lockdown, I decided to enroll in a Master’s program in Psychology at IGNOU. I have always been fascinated by how the human mind works, and as a designer, this curiosity often intersects with my work. After all, a significant portion of my time as a designer involves thinking through problems and collaborating with people to shape products. I wondered: What if I could better understand human psychology? Wouldn’t that help me create better products? This curiosity led me to pursue a Master’s in Psychology.
Throughout my studies, I learned how people absorb information differently and why educators should adapt their teaching styles to each student’s learning preferences. Coming from India, where the teacher-to-student ratio is often overwhelming, this was a profound realization for me. I recognized why some students struggled academically; many did not receive the right support because their learning styles or attention needs were overlooked. It was not that they lacked potential; rather, the education system did not always cater to their individual needs
Now, as I work at Hootz and interact with our users, I have come to another important realization: focus matters more than ever, especially in a world overloaded with distractions. Many of our users, while highly motivated, struggle to stay on track. They often feel overwhelmed by the constant flow of work and the instant gratification from social media, which can pull them away from their tasks.
For people with ADHD, managing time and maintaining focus can feel like an uphill battle. Simple tasks, such as sticking to a schedule or completing a project without distraction, can become overwhelming. That is where Hootz comes in. It is designed to support productivity, no matter how scattered your thoughts might feel.
Finding Focus
One of the hardest challenges for someone with ADHD is finding a rhythm that works. Distractions come easily, and time can either fly by or drag on. It becomes difficult to gauge productivity. Our Focus Time mode helps users maintain their rhythm by breaking tasks into manageable chunks. It allows them to focus on a project for a set period and gently reminds them to take breaks or refocus if their attention wanders.
The gentle structure of Focus mode makes it easier to manage the day without feeling overwhelmed. Instead of forcing oneself to work for long stretches, it provides the flexibility to reset as needed, keeping productivity on track without added pressure.
Staying accountable, without the pressure
Accountability can be challenging for someone with ADHD. Time slips away quickly, and it is easy to lose sight of priorities. The Hootz AI assistant nudges our users with regular check-ins, giving them a real-time snapshot of their progress. It acts as a gentle guide, nudging them back on track when necessary, without adding pressure or judgment.
The Accountability AI is not there to scold; it is there to help users manage their time and stay focused on their goals. It ensures that they are not just busy but also productive.
A tool that understands
Hootz is not just another productivity app; it is a tool designed to work with people, helping them navigate their day more effectively. It is especially beneficial for those with ADHD because it does not force them into a rigid schedule. Instead, it adapts to their needs, offering support, tracking time, and providing gentle nudges to keep them on track.
By combining automatic time tracking with real-time accountability and focus support, Hootz helps users with ADHD manage their time in a way that feels natural and effective. If you are looking for a tool that understands the unique challenges of maintaining focus and offers practical solutions, Hootz might be the key to making productivity feel achievable.
